Rage clicks and scroll storms, explained
CursorGoblin detects rage clicks and scroll storms from local timing and pointer-event patterns, then adds them to the daily report. These labels describe bursts of interaction; they do not claim to know why you clicked or what was on screen.
Rage clicks
A rage click is detected when at least five left clicks arrive within two seconds and remain tightly grouped within a small pointer area. A cooldown prevents one burst from becoming a long chain of duplicate alerts.
The report cannot see the button, app, page, or reason behind the burst.
Scroll storms
A scroll storm is a sustained scroll session. CursorGoblin looks for continuous scroll activity over time and records one event for that session, with a cooldown before another event can be recorded.
Keep the signal on your terms
Nudges can be turned off, and their frequency can be set to low, normal, or high. Tracking itself can be paused, while reset controls let you remove today’s stats or the full local history.
- Low: at least 30 minutes apart.
- Normal: at least 15 minutes apart.
- High: at least 5 minutes apart.
